I have the spora sub 100cm w/ a single band. Its the Aspic model.

Wanting to get a bit more range/power out of it and still maintain accuracy.

Was toying w/ the idea of putting the Rob Allen double band muzzle on it.

I dont mind loosing a slight bit of accuracy in exchange for a tad more range and power as the fish I am shooting at are generally over 5lbs and can push 60+lbs

You might want to read the Rob Allen site -- or just drop them an email. (I think the RA barrels are a little larger diameter than standard euroguns...I could be wrong though).

Have you tried using 20mm rubbers (seems many folk on the forum prefer single 20mm to 2x16mm, even though the latter are more powerful)? Or shortening your rubbers?

(There are charts on line from Rob Allen & Rabitech of suggest rubber lengths vs. diameter vs. barrel lengths -- the Rabitech one covers 16 & 20mm and low & high suggested values).

I am seriously thinking of switching to a bulk rubber muzzle instead of paying an arm and leg for screw on rubbers.

just need some pros. and cons from some of you guys that have made the switch...thanks~!

Hiya

I think the aspic comes out with a double band muzzle. If that IS the case, simply buy a set of euro adaptors and then you can use bulk rubber.

Regards
miles

Hana Pa. Bluewaterhunter.com I think.

Miles I was wanting both bands in-line w/ the gun, I want a full circular rubber instead of having to tie 4 knots... Thanks though!

Try Rob Allen, if that doesn't work -- perhaps Hammerhead do a muzzle for your gun? (Try this link from CantShoot: http://www.spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=17236&highlight=cantshoot -- he has pictures of this RA with a custom open muzzle strapped to his kayak, perhaps a Hammerhead muzzle?).

Hi,
I am not sure if this commercial post is allowed, but we have the "Euro Aapters" at Florida Freedivers as well. PM me if necessary.
Regards,
Mike.

Mike aren't you guys also the RA importer in the USA? If so, does the RA muzzle fit standard euroguns?

Hi Mr.X
Yes we are the RA Importer for the USA.
WRT RA Muzzles.
They will fit a lot of the standard Euro guns but not always snugly or without some sand-papering here and there.
ie It is either a slight rattle-fit or it is just slightly too-tight.
Depends on the Euro gun in question. There is some variation in the barrels even though a lot of them are around 28mm OD.
The RA barrel is around 29.2 mm OD but it has a thicker wall than a lot of the others.
On the other hand, some of the older guns e.g. Champion Arbalete have very small barrels (25mm OD) and these are defintely a no go with the RA muzzle.
Regards,
Mike.
