Handmade thanks to Gery and Milon who supplied inner tube and lead shot. It weighs 1.85Kg and although it doesn't fit like a glove (diameter a bit too big) I relaxed into DNF, reducing from seven to four movements, comfortably reaching 50m.

you only need 4 movements (complete strokes I guess) per 25M? that is very good IMHO. Also, don't make the neck weight too tight as it seems to hurt and bother in the later part of the dive. Does me anyway.

Yes I mean complete strokes, after the push off and 1st arm pull I count "one", then next frog kock + arm pull = "two" etc. Tonight I trained in 25m apnea pool (2m depth) and concentrated on finding the correct buoyancy, trying to keep very still in the glides. Managed to get down to 3 1/2 and did 50m again at the end of the session using 3 1/2 both ways.

All the lads tried the out my new toy. One apneaist told me perhaps 1.85Kg is a bit too heavy and that 1.6Kg should do the trick. I think I agree with him, although I got better throughout the session. FRC dive had to propel (haul) myself along the bottom with my arms lol.

As well, after my 50m another comment made was that the few movements are are making my dive too slow and that I should swim faster i.e. more mouvements. What do you think? I takes me just over a minute to do 50m.

well first a disclaimer: i am the worlds worst pool apneaist. Second, 50M DNF always takes me 1:10 to 1:15 and about 5 to 6 armstrokes per 25M! (i said i was crap). I can battle on quite a bit further than 50M, only 'cause of big lungs and stupidity.

regarding the weighting: get ready for your dive, inhale as much as you always do for max dives and push off, glide until you stop, no kicks or strokes. You should be just positive at the end. If you sink or are dead neutral remove some weight.

Thanks for this. I will take off 150gr.
