Hi there fishkillers!
For the last few years i used a JBL and than a Beuchat speargun
wth rubber-bands. But last year I lost to many fish because these
guns haven`t been strong enough.Several times the spear did not
go in propely or the floppers did not open.Because I travel for months,
I couldn`t carry a real big gun with me and so I bought a pneumatic
"cressi-sub SL 55".Does anybody here have experience with tis type?
I can not try it out before I will be in my hunting-grounds in Thailand and Indonesia because here in Germany the waters are bloody cold and
speagunfishing is absolutey prohibided anyway.
Thanks for your aswers

I would hazard a guess and say that after your experience with the JBL and the Beuchat you will be somewhat disappointed with the range of the Cressi-sub Pneumatic.
I have a Seac sub 55 and I used it twice and put it away.
I had to resort to sneaking up in 2ft of water and shooting mullet that were hidden behind seaweed from 2 feet away.

Huan is right, but it's not the fact of being a cressi or other brands: a 55 is a very short size, good for cave hunting, for second shot or eventually for agguato to seabass and mullet in very low visibility. Fot anything else you need a longer size, not less than 70 to 85 or more. However, don't put it away: a 55 pneumo is good for training yourself to get very close to fishes without scaring them (and i'm not joking).
