hi there! i actually submitted a full article this morning for the DB homepage, should be released soon.

this was at Martini Rock, just 10 min by boat from Khor Fakkan (photo enclosed). its a series of pinnacles, at 20metres depth. Full of soft corals, and sooo much stuff.

i saw my first logger head turtle on the second dive... you must know how pleased i was!!

ahhh ok, you are up there. Over here we need to go 40 or so miles out for decent reef type areas or good coral. The turtles are nice though aren't they? Watch it when you go spearing, they like to sneak up on you for a little snacking on your catch!

congratulations on the turtle. saw my first one in kuwait about 6 years ago.. you owuld be surprised on what you will see, and what you dont want to see yet still see regardless (u will soon understand what i mean)...

its good to know that as far as diving is concerned the UAE is treating you nicely

Hey Sara, glad you found your self some nice diving...
You just had a taste for the musandam, it gets better nd better the further North you head.
You will find plenty of reef sharks around Martini and snoopi rock, turtles are almost gauranteed on every dive ...
Enjoy the dives... ;)

Cool photo. The first time I dove in Brasil I saw alot of seahorses. I would gently bring them to the surface for my wife to see. They would wrap their tail around your fingers. I was so impressed by them I got a tatoo of one under my arm.( It's drawn in tribal lines so that it doesn't look too girly.) :)

I'm not sure that's such a good idea. What might look to you as a beautiful and cute creature is a one seriously stressed fish.
The only seahorses that I've seen (just a few) were territorial as far as I figured, I hope you atleast gave them a ride back to their place...
