Here are some pictures of my first attempt at a float where I can store some stuff while spearfishing right off the shore, mostly in kelp. Any constructive criticism would be appreciated.
Picture#:
1. All the materials cost maybe $50, if you buy a used boogie board.
2. More materials: anchor, flag, fish bag, cleats, a couple laundry bags, zip ties, 100 feet of 550 cord (parachute cord, 550 LB test), various metal clips, backpack straps, tent pole, misc plastic from containers, 5 minute epoxy, bungee cords.
3. Installed backpack straps. Measured evenly from the bottom and the sides. I made the height of the straps so the board would not go down below my waist and hit my legs while walking.
5. Added small gear bag with zipper, cleats for anchor line, drilled hole into the board for anchor line and to hold the anchor while transporting, inserted the flag pole, tied on bungee cords to the side to hold down the bottom part of the larger gear bag that also clips onto the top of the board. After being disconnected from each other, the side clips on the bungee cord can be used to attach other stuff to. The orange balls on the top between the cleats are connected to bungee cords to hold the anchor in while carrying and swimming out to where I will be hunting. Everything has been secured with zip ties in case I want to modify some things.
6. Large gear bag being held down by the bungees.
7. Large gear bag attached by a zip tie loop at the top connected to a clip.
8. Mushroom anchor through the hole on the board with bungees looped through the holes.
9. Anchor held in by the bungees looping back around to the top and connected to themselves.
10. Uncomplete, but still works...

4. A couple lengths of an old tent pole with the elastic cord cut and tied off. (Cut off a little piece of the third fiberglass piece which will hold the elastic cord inside the metal piece after tying a knot in it). This can be broken down and laid down on the board for compactness.
