My new Elios Benthos suit

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Very nice, how long was delivery?

What fins are those you have with you there?

Did you get the matching mask?

I dont really have a matching mask but i have a few of them that are black and nice.

The fins are CarbonTek85 made in Spain.

I tried them in open water first time yestreday and they were amazing carbon fins for freediving.

I got the Elios suit with machiong socks and with matching gloves in same camouflage.

Water was about 18 calcius and i was so warm i had to let som cold water in through the hood when swimming to cool down.

I was really strongly considering a suit similar to the one you have, I was looking at them last night. The water here is 28-30 celcius, so I am just using shorts and a vest. Works for now, but I am thinking a suit would be good.

Do any of the seams bother you?
How are the joints, painful or annoying?

I could make some detail photos of the craftmanship and all it you like.

The seams are perfectly glued and you just can not feel them at all when you wear the suit. I bought it tailormade.

I bought a 6mm Heiwa Medium density with gold coating inside and smooth outside but you could use a much thinner suit for you and because they are SOO easy to rip if you arwe not careful and good at putting on the suit i suggest one with smooth outside and inner in superstretch or and maybe just 3mm.

Delivery was about one month from final order to delivery oi ordered socks and gloves and one extra pair of gloves also.

If you would please take some pics, that would be really great. I have no local acess to anything here, so I have been wasting a lot of resources ordering things in.

The main reason I haven't got into an Elios yet is the durability reason. I was thinking I might order a Cressi off the shelf one to start with from Deeperblue shop and learn with that. The wetsuits I have now are Scuba, so I don't think they give me any idea how fragile the Apnea ones are.

Do you think I should just get an Elios and be done with it? I don't think I have enough experiance to know which way to go, but they are cheap enough.

If it makes any difference, I just ordered my first Mono from Special fins... Not sure if the fins make a differnece in the type of suit you need. I wouldn't imagine it would, but CW is my primary focus, so the suit should be aimed the same way I suppose. Does the density matter, is that why you specified?

I looked on the Elios site, they list so many types of materials, but not what they are all for. Any idea where I could find that info?

Thank you so much!

Very nice suit Fredrik! I really like the benthos/pelagos camo style

Will try to take some more pictueres for you all of the suit, it is a real masterpiece that the staff at Elios sub made for me!

Could you post a pic of the crotch seam of the pants please not a fetish just I always seem to split mine there rofl I want to see how Elios do theirs

Thanks PoseidonSV, great pics.

Out of interest how flexible are the shoulders and chest area when its on? How durable is the smooth skin exterior in your opinion?

Think i will go Elios way when my summer 5mm is on its last threads.

Thanks again

Actually as always with smoothskin outside and opencell with gold coating Heiwa medium density neoprene you have to resist the urge to PULL thwe suit on grabbing big chunk and then pull it on. You have to use some soap fill it with water or some other trick to put it on and take it off.

With that said when the suit is on it is very comfortable and stetchy but since i bought a really HOT 6mm suit it is much more less stretchy than a 5mm or 3mm suit. Aslo the socks is in smoothskin open cell gold and they are not possible to put on the feet without some soap or water. If i would do that it will sooner or later result in schreded material.

Becúse it is tailormade there is no problem with stress areas as crotch and not hard to move the arms over head and so on.

Also like you see they did excellent job with reinforcing the edges at the wrists and ankles and also un the rombic area under the arms it is reinforced on inside like you see on the pictures.

This was really nice made handwork done by the elios staff and the suit is very comfortable to wear.

It feels like no suit or like a second skin, feeling is like a big hug.

The material is durable enlough for sitting on the rocky stony shoreline when going inte the water but it might not withstand cuts from corrals and or sharp wateredge living creatures by the ocean.

When i buy a 3mm i will maybe go for a smoothskin with some lining on inside to make it tougher and not seo easy to rip it and easier to put it on.

Basically its all a matter of practice and to knopw how to put on and take of the jacket that is the tricky thing to learn.
