Going on a quick Bahamas cruise. Anyone have suggestions for either of these places that I can get to on a cruise itenerary. Interested in anything remotely good as I haven't been in blue water in forever. Coco Cay is the private island I believe for Royal Caribbean. My wife followed some link from their site for a snorkel excursion but it was something ridiculous like $200 a head! Going next weekend 1/23.

Nassau and Coco Cay

I spent a day on Coco Cay in March 1993. (my honeymoon). The snorkeling excursion consisted of looking at some shallow wrecks of boats and a plane. 10-12feet. There was also an area that was roped off for snorkeling with a lifeguard on duty. I think it went to about 30feet. Very pretty but a small area. Maybe it has changed. You might be better off booking a tour on one of the bigger islands like freeport or nassau if you want to do some real freediving. I was in Nassau on Sunday. There are plenty of nice freedivable spots around the island. Have fun.
