Neck too loose

Hey, I ordered a two-piece open cell wetsuit without hood. Now the problem is, that the neck is a bit too loose and water is entering the suit slowly.
Any ideas how to seal it up?
I thought about gluing a thick layer of neopren inside of the neck to make the opening tighter. Or maybe somehow slice it open a bit and add some velcro. But I'm afraid the cut will get bigger with time.
 
If it is a made to measure suit you should be able to get the manufacturer to alter the neck area by removing a small slice of neoprene and then re-gluing it so it will look as good as new. If it is unlined opencell on the interior you may find it hard to get your head through the neck opening if it is too tight. Velcro will not work as even more water will enter.
Try this first. When you get in the water squeeze out all the air in the loose section so that it fits more closely to your skin. My Elios suit is loose at the neck but pushing all the air out at the start of a dive session makes it work ok. Hope this is helpful.
 
Don't get it too tight or it may triggering a choking reflex. Perhaps you could wear something with a collar underneath, e.g. rash vest. Alternatively, build up your neck muscles or put on weight - both can significantly increase your neck size

Actually cutting the suit and then gluing it with proper wetsuit glue (from you local dive shop) might well work. Wetsuits are mainly held together by the glue. I guess that would be equivalent to making a "dart" in tailored clothes/dress-making. Obviously it is not without risk. Don't use regular contact adhesive. As you have MTM (& Polosub are nice but not cheap), get them to fix it for you - if they are any good, you should only have to pay shipping one way IMHO.
