Need help modifying line catch on a cheap speargun

This little grooved plastic clip isn’t sufficient to hold the line in place so I will need to come up with some sort of solution. I’ve never done anything like this so the more basic and functional, the better.

I'm sure that you could reduce the gap and increase the friction with something as simple as a dab of silicon.
The kind you use for waterproofing bathrooms - comes in a tube.

Any kind of slightly flexible glue/paste would work too.

Remove the clip, file a few slightly deeper notches, heat with a lighter, bend inwards and reinstall.
 
Hi. You can add a Marc Valentin line release. However, i think you would have to do it yourself because MV releases are made for a 28mm diameter tube and unfortunately your Beuchat Espadon has a 25mm diameter tube.
