Hello everyone,
I'm kind of new to UWH, here is my background. I'm an avid sportsman and I'm extremely interested in spearfishing. I would like to think I'm a little above average. I want to get into hunting in deeper water than I'm curently in ( 30ft) and want to get to the 80ft range, recently I went to 60ft ft with no problems with just fins, mask, snorkle, gun, and no weight. I know I can hold my breath for 3 1/2 minutes which isn't saying much but I feel is decent for getting in off the bat.
My main reason for posting is that I want to step up. I currently shoot a lot of sheep head, drum, and flounder. My next quest is shooting grouper, cobia, and snapper.
My questions are: what type of gum should I step up to currently I use a cressi sl 70. And I would like to know what type of fins would be a good purchase, and what kind of weight set set up I weigh 170lbs. Oh I almost forgot what kind of gun set up? Free shaft, reel extra... I'm gonna dive mostly around structure in 70 to 80 ft with some possible pelagic fish. All recs are welcome and if u need any more info please ask I'm all ears! Thanks and God bless!
