Hey Guys,

I need help from you Euro Spearo, i'm looking into several guns. The Omer Excalibur Carbon 110, Picasso ( similar size ), Rob Allen Vecta 110, Rabitech 110. What i want to know is for Reef, Wrecks, and occassion open water in Florida, which gun has the better accuracy, trigger ( smooth ), power and mobility in the water to track fish. Also are they harder then the American Guns to load ( Riffe, Wong, JBL etc.. ).

Thanks, Manny

Hiya

Manny, sadly there is no answer!!!

ALL of the guns you've mentioned are superb guns. They WILL all work well.

The only real differences are, the RA and Rabitech have a rail which will allow you to add more power to the gun, with less spear wobble. They also come standard with dyneema wish-bones, which are finger friendly!! As well as 7mm spears. They come with bulk rubber muzzle, making rubber replacement cheap and makes customising rubbers easy.

The Picasso and Omer both come with articulated wishbones(NOT finger friendly!!) and 6.5mm spears. They have screw in rubbers, which in the long run are costly to replace. How-ever, you do get euro adaptors that will allow ant gun with a screw in muzzle to take bulk rubbers.

Now to complicate matters, OMER has a stick on rail which you can buy and fit to your gun so that it also has the advantages of a rail. (but in all honesty, my Omer Excalibur shot accurate enough with-out a rail!!). Picasso has also brought out a new railgun, called the PACIFIC.

Soooo, like i said earlier, they're ALL great guns, you can't go wrong with any of them. Pick: the one you like best/feel the most comfortable with/is in the right price range for you/etc

Regarding the loading, YES they are harder to load, but its mostly tecnique that's involved. Once you've got the tecnique down, loading is very easy. Besides a 110cm gun isn't that long and you'll get the hang of it rather quickly!!

Chech omer's new T20 model with open muzzle and circular bands. Its pretty cool and handy design

Hi Spearos,

Even though I am known for custom Hybrid guns, I think there is a lot of spearos out there that don't know that there is an American built euro gun. It is made by Aimrite. The interesting thing, is that most of the new gadgets that the euro makers are doing to spiff up their guns were already on Aimrite guns for the last five years. Its nothing new to have an open muzzle. If you really researched it, its been an after market thing to do on euro guns in Hawaii for years. I find it interesting to hear all these years about the inherent accuracy you get with in line bands and how that is the way it should be. Yet now many euro gun makers are coming out with the same style muzzle I have had on my custom guns for years. I guess we can't be that far behind the times. The euro styled railguns by Aimrite also have the strongest triggers on the market and has both an extruded aluminum barrel with a built in track and also a carbon fiber barrel with an adhesive back plastic track on it. Aimrite has had an accutrack for many years now. In fact one major importer of a certain brand of euro gun used to buy our tracks to put on thier guns after they reached the US market. Camouflage barrels? We've had them in splash anodized colors before any other major manufacuturer thought about doing it. Our problem is we didn't have the budget to tell everyone.
The prices for these guns are very competitive and try to find any other production euro gun maker with a lifetime waranty.
If you want to find more info on these guns, check out the latest issue of Hawaii Skin Diver mag who is one of the sponsors for this website. See how it did as far as accuracy off the shelf vs others who had modifications done.
Well as you have probably guessed by now, Aimrite is co-owned by my partner Rick Bettua and I.
Oh, to answer the loading question. I believe our railguns are one of the easiset to load becasue we use a hefty butt on our guns. Some spearos hate it and some love it. If you hate it you can always just cut the but off and you will have your normal kill your chest eruo gun.
I just thought that you might want to see that there are other euro styled guns available out there at reasonable prices and with a great waranty.
I'm not sure is this is the right section to do this, but it's been on my mind now for a while. I would just like to say hi to you all and hope you see that there are other options out there for you to chose from. Utimately the best gun for you is the one that you think will work best for you.

Aloha, Daryl Wong/Rick Bettua
