I will be near shore in sandy areas and also tight rocky areas. The tip must fit on all lengths. Want the short setup to have a different band or the band segmented so the power and accuracy isn't compromised more than necessary. Would like to put a grip on it also. Rockfish, Lingcod, Greenling, Flatfish, Seabass, Perch primarily. Not confident the cheap Maco with 5 point will work on larger fish but could be the first of 2 spears. Advice on purchase with quality and effectiveness more weight than price. Definitely no fiberglass and leaning strongly towards aluminum but may spend $$$ on stainless.

I don't use a pole spear but looked into some a while back. There are various cheaper options available but I recall a company in the USA with a good website emailing me occasionally for a few years about their impressive product range. Unfortunately I don't currently recall their name, etc. but I expect it will soon pop up on Google if you search for pole spears.

I think they also sponsor a spearo who appears on the web and YouTube from time-to-time. Perhaps associated with American big pelagic spearo extrodinaire Cameron Kirkconnell ??

My reply may be of no help, but I was looking for a cheap travelling pole spear a few years ago and ended up taking one to Thailand with me, and came to the conclusion that pole spears are so inferior to my regular travel spearguns that I will probably not use one again.
