There are a growing number of divers down there that you should try and meet- Maytag, freedivechicago, nostres, and others who don't post on here.
Another option you can look into is the VERY active underwater hockey club down there. They train 3-4 days a week and travel to all the tournaments. This would be a great way to stay in shape and work on your C02 tolerence.
You can also check the Wisconsin forum, on this site, for other activites that we have planned throughout the year so that you can meet other freedivers.
