Need your suggestion on a trip to Costa Brava, Catalonia, Spain

Hi! I am planning a spearfishing trip to Costa Brava, a coastal region of northeastern Catalonia, Spain. My buddy told that we must go for a spring season, when fish comes closer to the shore. We are mainly aiming for mullet and common bass (? white mullet)... sorry, do not know the exact English names. We will also have a boat there.

Could you please suggest us the best time (month) to do this?
