After long years of fights, and only exceptional opening of the deepest diving tower to some elite freedivers, NEMO33 seems to have changed the opinion, and announces the opening of the facility to freedivers.

The cost of a 2 hours long session is 30€ per person. More details on the website of NEMO33:

In theory it's open. But last Saturday we with AIDA Belgium organized a dive there and one of the instructors made several phone calls to Nemo and to John Beernaerts (owner of Nemo33) and sent a lot (!) of emails for there internal rules (they are very strict.) No response ! We had to cancel the dive not really great publicity...

What exactly was the internal rule you were not able to meet? Or didn't you get them at all?

I wasn't the instructor so I don't really know the details. Our instructor said that he canceled the dive because he wasn't able to get more information about freediving in Nemo33. But I know that he called several times. Via via he even got the personal phone number of John Beernaerts. He spoke a message in but didn't get an answer. I think he would like to know some details what in case of samba ( they are really strict 1 samba = end of freediving in nemo).

I think he didn't get more information that the info that's on the site and if you want to organize a dive with 30 people and you are responsible for that group I find it normal that the instructor wants a little bit more information...
