Neoprene Socks

It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Absolutely, they’re a must have piece of kit over here, 3mm in the summer and 5mm in the winter.
I also find that the fin foot pockets are more comfortable with a pair of socks on.

We use these 4mm for NorCal 46-52F. I also have a 2mm shortie set for warmer waters.

Wear a sock when trying on fins.

FreeDiveShop.com

Neptonics also has them. Check Florida Freedivers.

I use 3 mm in Hawaii, and 7 mm socks up here. Depends on water temperature, fit of the footpockets, and general comfort

wow 7mm !!!!

anyway ive got some breuchet 2mm and the bloody things always get holes in them, dose any1 eles have this problem or do i need to cut my toe nails??

Best pair of Neoprene socks I’ve ever had is a pair of the Rob Allan 5mm, been using them for the last 2 years and they’re still going strong.
Every other pair I’ve used have given up after about 6-8 months.
Not sure who does them over there but in the UK you can source them from this bloke http://forums.deeperblue.com/members/uk-spearo.html

Try Imersion for 7 mm socks. I've had mine for over a year of occasional use.

cut your nails, and then use parts dip or other liquid rubber compound on the indise of the socks where your nails rub

Sorry, but I don't know what blackwitch is, but anything that will provide a barrier after painting it on the inside of the sock at the point where wear occurs.

In the US we have parts dip: its liquid latex that the handles of tools can be dipped in to give electrical insulation, and generally a more comfortable grip.
Neoprene cement would work well too (blackwitch?).

year, i just got the socks for the warmth, the problem with size14(us) is that your limited to only a few products in a niche market, hence i had to make do with beuchet wich get holes sooo easily.
those RA socks sound great dose any1 know if you can get them in Australia?
