Any thoughts on whether this would be worthwhile?
I would think some freedivers' buoyancy strategies would need to adjusted.
As for the actual product itself, it's made using a high tech fabric that you can order for yourself by the yard:

I don't know if you can layer it to get more warmth than just 2.5mm neoprene equivalence, but that would be a lot better than 2.5 alone for sure!
I've already emailed and asked if it can be made with a camoflage pattern for spearos, and they said no (at least for the moment). I don't think it would be that hard to custom make something yourself, though.
