Hi guys,

Just came across this blog posting on an Italian forum. Omer has some pretty cool new stuff for 2011 in terms of wetsuits with their 3D camo, carbon fins with camo, general accessories, and... (suspense):

A new Cayman E.T. speargun with enclosed track!!!

Check out all of the photos here:

Here are a few photos from the several posted at the above blog:

How extremely cool! The Cayman ET seems very much likely to reboot Omer's position in the American market. And in Guernsey too (Foxy, are you there? En-clo-sed-track!!!)
The 3D camo Stingray carbon and the Stingray shorts are very interesting. Any news of the Stingray Ice?

Lentgh from 75 to 130 cm guns, track designed for 7mm tabbed shafts, hydroformed barrel of variable wall thickness (1.2mm for shorter ones, 1,5 mm for longer guns), full stainless steel trigger and mech, new 2 hole muzzle with weight set for custom ballasting, available both in 3D camo and black barrell.

Check the italian website linked by Claudio for the camo carbon fins. That's sa-weet.

Thanks, any idea on price?
looks great & about time we had a mass produced enclosed track, I wonder if it would work with a 6.5 spear or even a 6mm, a 6mm in the 75 would be very nice!
Most likely the gun has been tuned & balanced to match the 7mm....
Arr just re read your info - with weight set for custom ballasting.

They sure have some interesting new gear.

Spago, did you notice the StingRay short blade? It comes with a modified StingRay footpockets that has shorter and thinner rails. Sounds like an interesting footpocket to add carbon blades to.

Aside from the bigger releases, I also liked the other small pieces of gear such as the 10-color kit for applying mimetic paint to wetsuit, spearguns, and fins.

Hi Foxfish,

Tinman's enclosed-track design looks very functional and should make it for a quieter gun, since it is made of extruded High Density Polyethylene plastic.

The only possible minus of this new Cayman E.T. may be that it could be noisier because of the all-metal enclosed track.

I will be very interested in hearing first-hand accounts when people start testing this gun.

I have got a alloy enclosed track gun & it does have a distinctive noise on firing but not sure if it is an issue - good point though.

I agree the muzzle looks pretty good, but somehow, at least from my opinion, I never really warmed up to "double Bands" and circular bands on a euro arbalete..call me old fashioned, Im more excited about the barrel shape and closed track, just wish it had the muzzle of the HF2

Kind time of day Guys!
It seems to me is all of a variation on subject matter Beuchat Marlin shaft guaide more deeply, and in the rest Beuchat. But it only my opinion.

hmmm? howe is an enclosed track anything like the beuchat marlin shaft guide?

beuchat marlin was another rail barrell yes which is like the standard cayman range. this is completly different. the handle is nothing like a beuchat... it has much greater angle and higher hand position, the mechanism is much more compact. the muzzle has some passing similarity maybe but none of it is even close.

if you hold a Beuchat marlin carbone next to a Omer Cayman HF they are very different shapes.

the marlin is narrow and deep for better verticle plane movement and horizontal stablility where as the Cayman HF (or ET both basically the same) is wide and shallow for greater horizontal movement and vertical stability.

sure the handle is in the same place and they both have double open muzzles but otherwise they dont really share any similar features. barrel shape and design is completly different.

but yep they are similar size and price oint i guess.

Some very cool other items like the knife sharpener (in another thread) and the clip on weight.... very handy.

hmmmmm :) new toys new toys!!!!!!!!!!!! Killa not sure on pricing yet i think most ofmit hasnt been released yet prob not until the new year i would imagine, we get our first batch of new gear in australia early next year.
