I proud to say we just adopted a brand new baby girl born on 7/15/07 in Brooklyn, NY. 6 pounds, 7 ounces. We were alerted about this young mother who was looking for adoptive parents just three weeks ago by my wife's cousin who is a nurse at the hospital. Then the baby came two weeks early. My wife was able to fly to Brooklyn in time to see the birth. My wife was able to take the baby home two days later. Even though the mother has relinquished her parental rights, the judge requires the baby to stay in the state of New York for fourteen days after the mother terminates her rights before we can take her to Texas. I flew up to NY. and spent the week with the new baby. The birth parents were both Guatemalan and the baby has a classic central america indian look about her. She is very cute and has the most hair that I have ever seen on a baby

That's fantastic news!!

Congratulations, that's a lucky little baby right there- and a great addition to your family.:)

Viva adoption! One of the teachers at our school and his wife just adopted about 2 weeks before the term ended and they only had about 2 weeks notice. Talk about frantic! Hope your joyous event went a little more calmly. ;)

Congratulations to you and your wife Ken your daughter is beautiful I bet she will be in pigtails in 6 months. Sorry not to see you at lake Wazzee this year perhaps next year also what is your daughters name?

Congratulations!!:)
A sweet picture of mutual blessings. Best wishes to you and your family!

Ken

I see your prayers have been answered! You and Lisi deserve that lucky break and how fortunate you were to able to be given her so fast - I remember your last little visitor Anthony that you took care of for so long, you really deserve this blessing - congratulations to you both! (Did you ever hear any more progress news of the little guy?)

I cant wait to see pictures of her when all that beautiful black hair grows long - she is going to be a sight to behold. She is one lucky little lady to be blessed with family as loving as yours.

Wishing you all the best xxxxxxx

Thanks everyone! :D By the way her name is Rachael Marie. She is doing well and has already gained a pound and two ounces. She is due into Dallas on August 3rd. I guess we will have another freediver eventually. I had put my other daughter Kristina into infant swimming lessons when she was 6 months old, and now at 4 years old she swims good and is totally in love with the water. All that early indoctrination into water and watching the videos we have taken of our dive trips has my little girl saying she want to be a diver when she grows up. :D

Regarding Anthony. I'm afraid that door is closed. We had made repeated attempts to contact the parents by phone and by letter, but we have never gotten a response. The last letter we sent them was a self addressed postage paid envelope with a disposable camera with a request if they could just take a few pictures of him and mail the camera back for developing along with a check for $200.00 dollars for Anthony. The father cashed the check within two days and never returned the camera or responded. I will just have to let it go. But I feel extremely blessed for having known Anthony and even more so now with our new daughter Rachel. Thanks again to everyone. :D :D :D

My little girl really loves her new little sister. When all of her cousins were making a fuss over the new baby, she got a little jealous and then wanted to be treated like a baby as well for about a day. It funny that she wanted a pacifer because she never used one as a baby

That darn rave-party generation! heh-heh.

Hey Ken! CONGRATS. Ya'll have been quite the busy family, it seems. I'm so happy for you and your wife. I've been out of the scene for a while (Dallas, as well as Deeperblue). If you care to expose the little dive-ling to any of our fine beverage-drinking establishments, I'll buy!

I got your digits on my SIM card somewhere around here. I'll give you a rangy-dangy when I get back from Austin next week!
