thinking about a new bc, want something that I can upgrade through tech and cave diving , considering transpac, have heard good things about halcyon and oms. Anybody(ies) willing to tell me everything I need to know before making this investment?

Go on thedecostop.com fourm and seach that request, this has been hashed out 1000s of times.

I've got a halcyon backplate and harness and have been really impressed with the build quality. The nice thing about going with a backplate is that you can get a wing for the kind of diving you're doing. Because I've been doing a lot of shallow reef dives lately i've had my single tank wing on most of the time, but when we go to the springs or on a deeper dive I throw on my doubles wing.

I have a friend with the OMS setup. To me, there are way too many velcrowed connections and other miscelaneous failure points for this to be a reliable tech diving configuration. They may make a more standard webbed version also, this is just the only one i've seen.
