This one went quick. I was really frustrated with the modification after modification of my original design (I still have plans to release that with 2 different tops) and was having some paralysis from my analysis. So I challenged myself to design and develop a new design in a relatively short period of time. I did it and am really happy with the results. This board is lighter, sleeker, less buoyant and better for entries with break. It tracks beautifully and I think it would be a blast to surf on!

This i like.
Im currently looking for a new (bigger) float, and this is looking very nice.

weight can vary from 3 kg to 5 kg - cost is still being worked out but 200USD is where I'd like it to be.

Just a little update; the board is doing great. I've sold quite a few and the feedback has been positive. Here is a little youtube vid a friend did...

Those things look pretty sick. Too bad there a little big for traveling as they would be perfect for my trip to NZ! Cool video too.
EDIT: for what its worth, I think 200 is very reasonable. The standard lifeguard hard floats here in hawaii are over $120 and definitely dont offer the same features or possibilities that your float system does. Is everything sold a la carte? (flag, netting, clips?)

Thanks Blaiz!
I think the way it'll go is the "basic" board (14 padeyes, 3/8 ss eyebolt, 1.5" ss d rings, flag support, handles, deck plate, and straps) will go for $2 - it won't have a net, upgraded harness or bungees. Then there will be the dressed up board with upgraded harness, bungees, net and everything the basic has for $2.5.

Now we are talking!!!!!

what is the length and width of the recessed storage area?
overall dimensions?
lift capacity?

Great video clip, really like the sequence of events and shows the essence of why we do what we do. perfect!

Thanks Bjorn!
Overall dimension is 41" long x 24" wide.
Buoyancy is 68.7 lbs minus the weight of the board (board is averaging about 10lbs) - so buoyancy would be 58.7 lbs if board weight is at 10 lbs.
Dimension of sunken deck area approximately 19" x 24".

shame, wish someone had the skills and drive to build one in my neck of the woods to suit australian fishing styles (bigger)

a board similar to that would do well if the recessed area was around 40inches width is fine.

one day some one will do it here.... one day!

I am literally building the tooling exactly as you have described specifically for the Aus market to be made in Aus. Overall length of that board is 56 inches, same width and similar design.

YEAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! :)

let me know if you need a hand with a distribution Network....

i know a guy who knows a guy ;)
