Hello everybody, i Just purcased my fins, mask, snorkel, and some socks today. I am hoping to go play with them alittle bit tommarow and atleast get some comfort swimming with the length of the fins. I am now saving up for a nice warm dive suit and wieghts. I am hoping to start spearfishing but I know you dont go hunting your first time in the woods. I would love to find some local guys around monterey santa cruz area to meet up with and learn from or even another begginer looking for someone to go with. Thanks everyone!

Gear list at the moment
Fins mara razors
Ist mask and Ist snorkel
3mm dive socks
A surf wetsuit

You've got the right idea looking for a buddy. Another great idea is to do a course, you'll love it!

I found a guy this weekend that puts on a course about a hour away from me this weekend, im planning on taking that depending on the cost. David was his first name I cant think of his last name his card is in my pick up. O and I picked up a 7mm freedive suit this weekend! And got a dive float made out of a old boogey board I had laying around. So the only thing I need now is weights and I can always just rent them for now.

Yeah sounds brilliant. it took me a long time to afford a course, when I did it I loved it. I have a dive float made out of a boogie board too!! I love it.
