Hi!, just to share this with you...

Christmas holidays tend to be a low point for every trainee in every sport, ever since you travel, stop training hard and just rest (most cases) performances tend to drop and they have to be re obtained.

Well I stopped training on december 17th last year and started training January 7th, so almost an entire month without training, my dry PB was about 3 minutes 30 and wet PB was and still is 5 mins 15 sec.

Yesterday I resumed my static training from scratch and before sleeping decided to do an easy hold and go for 3 minutes. got my first contraction at 2:30 and it was an easy matter holding for 5 more contractions for 3:20.

When I do wet holds I usually hold for about 30+ contractions and getting to 3:20 with so little contractions made me think that breaking 4 minutes dry last night would have been no problem so I rested for 5 mins, did a short 1 minute negative hold and then went for a dry max.

30 contractions later I stopped at 4 minutes 38 seconds, also, all the holds were done without packing, at the end of this hold I felt very good, I could have gone for a 5 minute probably but I sent a limit of 30 contractions and I usually don't go past that for safety, I rather have a clean exit than more time with a samba.

-so there... sorry for the long story but sharing apnea accomplishments is something you can't do everywhere so I chose to torture you rofl

I agree, when sharing apnea accomplishments with non-divers they are sometimes concerned and tell me that it can't be good for my health.

Same with me! I try to only share apnea accomplishments with freedivers...

And well done!

I don't bother talking to non freedivers about it because I get the same response "why would you want to hold your breath?" accompanied with a funny look. Explaining further usually only gets me me weirder looks.

I share Freediving with everyone to be honest :) I like to see how people react, sometimes they're enthousiastic and sometimes they say you're mad, I can usually convince the people who say I'm mad that Freediving is cool :) and then they want to try it :D
