I received my brand new Elios suit a couple of weeks ago and have over this period of time tested it properly. The suit is 5 mm, high waist, open cell inside and kanoko lining outside. Since I am a beginner I decided to wait with an outside smoothskin lining.

So far, the suit is great. I have absolutely nothing negative to write. I almost ordered an inside coating, but am very glad I didnt, because the beforehand lubrication is no problem at all, and with that you are guaranteed easy dressing.

I also chose to have it custom made, which makes the suit a perfect fit. At such a low extra cost, this is something I would recommend to everybody.

The waters in Norway now is around 16 degrees celsius at the surface(At least in the southern parts), so I am always warm after two hours in the water. I am looking forward to testing during fall and even winter. If I am going to buy another one, I would definitely choose 3 mm instead for summer use, but 5 mm works just fine, since I`m not diving deeper than 25 meters (yet anyway:))

The kanoko lining is both elastic and very durable. I wouldnt say anything about water resistance yet, since I`m on an amateur level.

So all in all, I am very satisfied!

These are great suits- I dive in similar conditions to you. I have a 3mm for the warmer times of year and a 7mm that is fantastic.

I am also in the process of ordering an Elios suit. I am getting an open cell/smoothskin one. Does anyone know how the flexibility would be different if one gets supersmoothskin? I am somewhat confused if supersmoothskin is the same as Freedown (even though I spent endless hours researching the Elios site). I definitely want the flexibility the "regular" Yamamoto 45 suits offer with smooth skin.
