Welcome from Texas! Drove to maine this last summer. Took gear along and stuck one foot in the water near Bar Harbor. Had goosebumps on goosebumps! My electric cord to power a heater isn't long enough for a shore dive. rofl

Very funny Tex! Maine is abit colder, u know it is closer to iceland :)

if you decide to try it again let me know, I'll show u some spots in southern new England. Water temp in the bay is 53f, 7mm suit will be needed!

Way cool! I'll put thumb out and head yall's way some day! Hope the viz is better near shore than Texas (think chocolate milk most of the time).

Chef Al... I'm no expert but, 20' in good spots during good times i'm sure..

Can you say Ceviche?? Yes... striped bass is good 2!! I've never tried do'n that to a tautog but i'm sure it might work. Stuff tastes like a crabby fish when cooked right... may just leave that recipe one alone :)

cheers, matt

Yes I'd love to shoot a striper and taug. Ceviching the striper sounds right good with a side of pico de gallo, tortilla chips and COLD beer! We have hybrid stripers & Red Drum (Redfish) in a power plant lake (fresh water) near me and they are really good--however not legal to shoot--hook & line only. :friday
