Hi all, i am a scuba diver from Pacific Northwest, not a perfect place for diving, i know.

Recently got interested in freediving and found this great site. already learned a lot from those posts and looking forward to getting a "textbook".

i know SSI freediving course uses Manual of Freediving as their text. so i will probably get one when i take the course. just wanna hear about what ppl think of other books, like Breatheology, Deeply, and Homo Delphinus? Any recommendations, Pros and Cons?

thank you all

Welcome to DB. I grew up diving in the Pac-NW. Lots of great diving up there, you just need a good suit to keep you warm and schedule your dives around the slack-tides. But, the abundance of life is amazing! Anyway, I'm in Arizona now and not much water here. It is a 5 to 6 hour drive to reach some decent diving in the Sea of Cortes. So, you can feel fortunate to have water close to you, even if the prevailing color is green.

Cheers,
Ron Smith

Thanks Ron. Yes I still dive and enjoy whatever is available here. Any thoughts about those book?

The only one I own is Breatheology. I picked it up from Stig at DEMA Show last November. Lots of good information in it on breathing exercises and physical health for improving apnea, but you should know that it is not a manual on freediving. One of the other books would be better for a general overview/application of freediving, and Breatheology for when you want expand your capabilities from within.
