Hello agbiv. While in Palau, we were spear fishing fools. One night we took almost 150 Parrot fish, and one sea turtle. All but about 20 fish were given to an all girls school, which was prepared that day and was gone that evening. The turtle was parted out and BBQ'd. We didn't get beef on the island very often if at all, but the way the turtle was prepared, it was hard to tell from a good beef steak. Nothing we took went to waste, and I learned that the best meat was behind the head and in the cheeks.
I haven't done much spear fishing since then. Only a little around the oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. Trigger fish, Red fish, Grouper, Red Snapper. It's been a while.
The water around my home is rather brackish and silty, and the only thing I could spear around here is a refrigerator.

Same here but I am makinig an effort to get out more. My targets usually have XX on them.
