Yes, that metal thing might be some sort of loder. I suppose it has nothing with this gun. Maybe the gun name would be Mares Cyrano Evo, if not a joke... The guy who brought this information to forum is one of designers of Evo-Air.

The inner barrel is very high up in the gun, the outer tank even has a longitudinal crease to accommodate the upper curvature of the inner barrel which is nearly touching it, but the gun has a tapered nose as a consequence. There will be less buoyancy in the nose of the gun as was the case with the Omer "Skorpion", but maybe the taper on the tank is less here and not so much tank volume is lost. One photo shows many muzzles and triggers, some of the triggers being made of metal. The muzzle shown on the gun has "blast troughs" extending from the large muzzle relief ports. The reel mounts from the trigger finger guard frame and the power regulator gate now turns upwards instead of down at the forward "low power" position. The safety is a rotating switch instead of a transverse slide safety. The piston shown appears to have only one "O" ring for minimum friction.

The gun looks like it will be expensive due to the increased cost of the specially shaped tank as against cutting off sections from tubular aluminium extrusions, but that has been the case with the "Airbalete". Release cannot be too far away if all these photos are being shown now.

Any information on the trigger mechanism or is it the same as before? The photos seem to show a moveable trigger front element that was last seen on the "Competition Line" guns, the main part of the trigger being grey and the moveable part "lime green", there being three alternative positions to change the length of the trigger. Here it looks like it is an orange colour instead.

Mares presenta il nuovo Cyrano Evo Hf | Apnea Magazine

i was hoping for a really good vacuum barrel from mares - disappointed really - though it might make a good base for a diy conversion...

Reading the article it seems that the most significant change is the larger transfer port which is three times larger than before, which means less throttling of full power shots. Placing the inner barrel high up in the gun means that the transfer port size is not restricted by the width of the annular gap around a concentric barrel arrangement. It is significant that Mares have used a partitioning bulkhead in a gun with this cross-sectional shape for the air tank. The rest of the changes are incremental changes, even the slimmed down piston, but the new appearance will definitely attract buyers who are looking for something different. A dry/vacuum barrel may come later, but Mares have probably stayed with the wet barrel as there is no ongoing muzzle seal/spear running seal replacement required and the gun's shooting performance does not have a flooding barrel variable to sometimes affect the power of the shot. Hopefully the spears are now made from spring stainless steel rather than supplied as an option and the speartips are up rated from what used to be offered.

The side-mounted line release is another worthwhile feature to keep the wrapped shooting line against the barrel, as long as the line release lever does not adversely affect the swinging of the trigger and lets the trigger return to the "ready to shoot" position without it being a slave of the line release lever rather than the other way around. The new safety switch may be hard to move with thick gloves on in terms of applying it whereas pushing it up to "off" appears easier as your finger goes under the tip of the switch and fits inside the recess immediately below the tip. Maybe not so easy going in the opposite direction.

Thanks Tromic,

I like the sound of a 120 model. Looks like the current cyrano optimised.

Guys the new Cyrano Evo HF is out.

Pneumatic Guns - Pure Instinct - Mares

It looks like it will be similar price to the airbalete (cheaper than sporasub air one). 260 euros for the 120 model.

I havent seen it on any western websites yet only euro ones.
