Goood evening out there. Isolated from Sea and Freediving in the middle of Buckinghamshire, UK... miss not being near or better yet, IN.. a warm sea.

Looking to decide on somewhere warm to go this year to do some more 'occasional ' freediving. Thought about Maldives, but cannot see anything on the web that says there are any freediving schools or groups out there. Any thoughts welcome :)

Hey Adam - welcome to DB! I will be moving very near your neck of the woods later this year (hopefully) so if you are keen to do some freediving drop me a PM and I'll give you my details. Maybe we can find a pool and a couple of others and start a small club :-)

In terms of freediving, if you want to make it the main theme of your holiday I think you are better off going to Egypt - either with a UK freediving club or just join people there.

The Maldives are great obviously but at least when I went, I didn't find any freediving groups and even though they were advertising freediving lessons etc, when I took one I realised that they were really 'advanced' snorkelling lessons and I would trust some of the 'instructors' to recover me from even 5-10m of water (seriously!).

Having said that at the airport I did see a group of 4 guys, all with monofins, that were definitely a freediving group but you have to be lucky obviously to bump into such a group and tag along.
