Hey all,

My wife and I have just relocated to the Tampa, Fl area and have taken an interest in snorkeling, which is leading into freediving. She is Scuba certified and I will be getting certified sometime soon. I hope to do some spearfishing someday, after getting more comfortable with freediving. I've already found alot of good info on this forum, and will continue to learn more.

If anyone knows any good spots to snorkel/dive around Tampa, please let me know. We're going to head up to Crystal River, FL on Tues.

Thanks!

Hi Yuen, Welcome to DB.

Tampa Bay Spots: One of the easiest interesting spots is the semi submerged fort at the south end of Egmont Key. Takes a boat to get there, is a cinch to find, its very shallow, the vis on a calm day and incoming tide is usually acceptable if not great, and its very interesting.

Check with Ray Odor (find him on the web) for legal spots to spearfish. He has been shooting fish forever and can also outfit you with whatever you need.

Connor
