Hi, my name is Tony Buxton. I first dived in 1952. I became a professional spearfisherman in 1954 and won the national spearfishing Championships in Sri Lanka in 1959. The same year I became the British National Spearfishing champion by coming first on the British team in the world Championships in Malta. I spent most of my life exploring new places being the 1st to dive in the Maldives, southern India, Thailand, and Malaysia and many places in the Pacific needless to say I had some amazing experiences. I held the world record for barracuda 72lbs 1960 the 400lb shark in 1959. I worked with Cousteau and Hans Hass. In 1965 I dived with Jacques Dumas on virgin reefs of new Caledonia.
In 1966 I went into commercial diving in Singapore.
You can read my adventures in my recently published book Ecstasy of the deep. The link is as follows
