I tried Mirc once i think it's kinda hard to use

Is anyone on this channel yet?

Great iniatitive!

Just a few questions before I decide wether to go there or not.

Is it safe?

Last time I was on IRC (several years ago...1996) the whole thing was infested with antisocial geeks who, for no reason whatsoever, harrassed you with scripted attacks or tried to send you viruses/trojan horses. Either that, or they took over channels, ruining it for everyone who just wanted to chat with someone.

Is this still the case, and if so, does the lastest Mirc client protect against this? Are there other clients who are better (I have only used the old Mirc)?

I would really like to give IRC a second chance if it's about diving!

Might look into it later. I'm already on 2 different networks, so 1 more isn't likely to hurt is it?
