here is the new neptonics stuff, not in the catalog yet. 1 is a reef trigger with automatic line release reset lever.,(60$) it is not new but its not well known so i will show it,, the problem is , josh is in australia and hasnt as of yet emailed me,(as promised)with a pdf of the reset and exactly how to make it work, but i can tell you this, when you put the spear in , the little lever is bent back, when you pull trigger , little lever pops forward, so i am starting to see how it works, pretty simple, i like it! number 2- is the new black anodised handles with new square palm shape,(45$) plus new wooden handles(30$) and black sex bolts (price?) to install handle plates, really nice stuff. just wanted to share,

The auto resetting reef triggers have been out for a while, and they're very similar to the older Poseidonsub mechs that Steve Veros used to sell. Very cool way to actuate a release mounted on the bottom centerline of the gun too! Just use a short push rod going forward from the little tab.

Not all of the Neptonics trigger options are listed on the website, so sometimes it's good to give him a call. The reef mech, for example, is available for either a square notch spear or euro notch spear, and with / without the auto resetting tab. Josh also sells a little template that will help you position the line release slot just right.

didi you know that riffe euro spears work in the regular tuna mechs? they do. the little oval notch on the riffe spears, is longer than other euro spears, allowing you to put it in regular square notch mechanisms. if you read the riffe catalog, in his new euro x spearguns, he says his trigger will fit euro and american square notch, i thought that was the trigger he was referring to but it was the spears that are universal,(i never hunted with one, but we did load the spear and cock the bands to see what would happen

However you cant fix mono to the rear of the spear on the Tuna mech & the riffe spears I have seen have mini sharkfins to small to drill & attach mono?

the riffe euro shafts have a hole drilled in the front sharkfin already.plus a hole in the back, if you use smaller spears,(6.5-7.1mm) you can use the rear hole with smaller gauge mono,(200lbs) and there is room for the mono. it pinches a little, i would use the front hole. on my riffe euro, that i used to shoot, i made a 3" leader out of spectra and used THAT to jam into the mech, and used the rear hole,(since it seems the hydrodynamics would be better with the mono behind the spear.) plus i worry that jamming the mono into a tight fitting mech would cause it to pinch and fail, in retrospect, i dont think it matters much, just a personal preference, i guess. but ALL the riffe spears have a front sharkfin hole already ready to go. its a good idea for us americans, but for you euros it would be better to have an actual euro sear in the mech, so you wouldnt be bound to getting spears from the mail.

wait i just remembered, i got a whole bunch of spears!, i took some pics, the pic on top is an omer 6.35mm spear,( aka 1/4") the one on bottom is a riffe euro spear at 17/64" ,(aka 6.75mm) note the hole in front. plus more interestingly. note the oval cut out on the bottom spear, that is the riffe spear. thats what i was referring to. picture is worth a thousand words right?

You could drill a hole at the base of the fin and a little into the shaft, that weld there is stout as hell and will never break.
