New RA Reel

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
A couple of people on Spearboard have them and seem to like them.

Capacity is said to be 55 meters of 2 mm line.

Bill

I think I am going to get one, I am currently using the sporasub reel on my teak-sea, the sporasub reel is very good but the tension adjust is place on the top part of the reel instead of on the bottom and I always get my self confused.

You probably don't need any reels, all your guns have to notch reels (I based that on your lastest gun pictures).

A friend just emailed me and said he has one and wanted to get some extra line from me, so I guess I'll get to see it this week some time.

Yeah, I guess I don't need another reel, but what does need have to do with it?

Do any of you plan to use this on an RA GUN?

Do you know if you can mount a hammerhead reel on an RA GUN ?

I plan to use on my teak-sea, about mounting a HH reel on a RA, I would think you can (but don't take my word for it since I don't have a RA), but both RA and the HH guns have the same type of barrel (28mm round), I am pretty sure even with RA reel you must drill your barrel in order to install the RA reel. Will be the same procedure with the HH reel, I would get some plugs as well. But wait for the RA lovers on this forum there are plenty of them also you could PM Miles.

What may save me from doing something rash is the fact that the mount is for a round barrel, and I would be wanting to put it on the flat bottom of a wood gun. I guess I'd have to make some sort of filler for the curve or grind it so that the top surface was flat.

But when I see one, I guess I'll have a better idea what is possible.
