Hey all
i`m currently living in western australia, near some pretty amazing reef systems and blue water diving, In the past i`ve done alot of spearfishing using a Hawaiian sling, i have recently purchased a speargun to chase some bigger species was wondering if anyone could help me with my set up.... float lines. etc
Any info would be much apriciated,
cheers Tom

Hey mate,
Whereabouts are you in WA? I'm in Perth, I'm guessing from your description that you are further north.

If you are diving deep or shooting big game then get a float line (unless you have a reel). If you're going to be doing shallow reef dives for smaller fish, go without the float. The float is a hastle and when you don't really need it it is an aggravation. That being said, if you do choose to go with the float I would suggest checking out some o the DIY stuff on this site. A float is one of those things that you can save yourself some major bucks my making it yourself.
