Hello, Just want to say hi to all the locals who free dive in the area. Its been a while since my last dip but I'm working toward getting some gear and making a new wetsuit to do just that. Please let me know if your available in the near future for some spearfishing and or just recreational free Diving.
Thanks,
Jason

Hey, I'm From the Monterey Bay Area California. Iv been free Diving/ Spearfishing for about a year. I would say I'm intermediate. Just hoping to find someone near or around the area, because safety is first and diving alone isn't an option. I'm 37. Friendly

Welcome Bowdrie. Spearfishing alone is an option for many of us and quite a lot of us prefer it - but there are others who would never do it.

Yes, the recommendation, is to get training and, these days, for spearfishing, ideally get Spearfishing-specific training if you can find it (e.g. Florida freedivers or Adreno Sports in Oz, there are uk providers too). And join a club if you can (e.g. in the UK, the BSA clubs such as international club in London, Sussex and Exeter also have clubs).

Although spearfishing alone is not uncommon, it is not recommended by DeeperBlue. It requires a different, more cautious, self-reliant approach and an acceptance that one day you may not return alive - so not appropriate for most. As with all diving, you do so entirely at your own risk.
