New to DeeperBlue

Hey, My name is Mary Ann. I live in NC about 3 hrs from the coast. I've done a little spearfishing in the Keys, a little blue water stuff off the outerbanks and some jetty spearfishing. I'm planning to go to Costa Rica or Nicaragua in June for some surfing and spearfishing. I'm on here just looking to network. I also have a question: I registed on spearboard a couple days ago and my account has yet to be activated. Any suggestions?

We are a multi national community & I live a long way from NC so please excuse me asking but where exactly is NC?
I am afraid to say Spearboard is not part of db so I cant help you there.
We do however have quite a few guys on board who fish the Florida keys.

Guernsey is a little island just off the coast of France, the spearfishing is very seasonal & just starting now.
It would be nice to go fishing this weekend but more likely rod fishing.
 
Welcome to Deeper Blue! A lot of knowledgeable people from all over on here so do some searching and ask away if you can't find what you are looking for!

Spearboard manual activates all accounts I beleive so sometimes it takes a little while for it to activate - you should get an e-mail once it is - be sure to check your junk filters just in case!
 
Thanks! I actually don't know if it's a term for an amberjack. I am learning spanish so I can do some spearing in central america. I learned it as general term for fish but i woudln't be shocked is normally used for reef donkeys.
 
Hi Pez, I went spearing today off the south coast of England. A little chilly and no fish worth spearing around - just a large-ish wrasse sitting on the tip of my spear & a large group of tiny pollock. Caught 4 spider crabs, 2 in a pot, but let them all go, bit small.

I was offered a job in NC once, supposed to be really pleasant there but I had other plans at the time. 3 hours, that's quite a haul - it's about 1.5 for me & that's more than enough.

Welcome! You have some great spearfishing at your NC coast. There are DB members here that hunt out there.
 
Welcome to DB pez, your in the hog capital of the world...great waters yonder! CR is nice for both, as for SB when they send you a comfirmation note to your email, write Tony direct from there to activate your acct.
