Hello,

I am really new both to this forum and to freediving but I am quite used to being in water from before so I have been able to get a bit deeper than I thought pretty fast. I recently did my first 6 days of training with a teacher and was able to do 40 meters in a relaxed way. When I tried more I found it difficult to equalize. I think because I never really learnt how to do it so I am not that good at knowing how to move the air around in an efficent way. I did not have a problem with feeling exhausted or out of air.

I have never timed how long I can hold my breath or even tried to hold it for as long as I can.

Anyway, the training made me really interested in freediving and I would like to do more. So now I am mostly interested in learning how to be able to be even more comfortable in the water and how to prepare my self to go deeper and enjoy it even more next time when I have the opportunity to dive in the sea again (which might take some time).

At the moment I live in Maidstone, outside London, UK and I dont know if it is possible to dive anywhere around here. Or if there is any organised pool training or something like that nearby. Does anyone know?

Also, otherwise I thought about training in a pool with a friend a little but I dont really know what to do. Before I found freediving I have just been swimming normally under water (for about 50m) and I also used to exhale and go down to the bottom at the deep end (5m) and just lay there and relax for a bit because I liked the peaceful feeling it gave me. But I have never pushed it since I havent had the focus to improve (and also because I havent had a friend to look after me). So if anyone have any simple good exercise tips I would be very happy to know.

Looks like a very useful forum with lots of stuff to try to understand :)

Thanks!
