First off thanks for having me, I'm glad to be here. After lurking for a week or two I can tell there's an invaluable wealth of knowledge here and I feel fortunate to have access.

So here's the situation, I've been fishing and sailing all my life. I currently live on my Watkins 27 in Tampa bay. I've been getting into spearing recently and am ready to make a commitment. I need a secondary boat to dive from. I'd like to be able to leave the bay and continue past the skyway to reefs with better visibility.

I'd like a boat capable of 20+knots, handling mild weather that pops up, and something I can store at my boat. The last stipulation seems to make this the toughest. It needs to be either <10ft so I can fit it on dinghy davits or inflatable so I can throw it on deck. I really lie the thundercat Aquarius racing cats, and am shocked at the speed. But it seems I can't really purchase one. I found this: http://www.sshaqy.com.cn/productgrouplist-209858945/Inflatable_Catamaran.html#products but it looks both too good to be true and sketchy. Oh, and lastly, I'd like to spend <5k on the boat with no motor, the less the better.

Mods, if this is in the wrong place, please move it. I didn't see a section for boats so I figured my first post should be here.

Thanks!

Welcome to Deeperblue! I'm glad to hear of another sailboat enthusiast who also dives. My husband introduced me to sailboats with a Catalina Capri 18 on Mission Bay and I can't wait to go sailing again.

I did a quick search and found this: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Sea-Eagle-FoldCat-Inflatable-Catamaran/dp/B000SL0KI8"]Amazon.com: Sea Eagle 12 Ft FoldCat Inflatable Catamaran Incl Swivel Seats Pump: Sports & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41Q6m6MyHZL.@@AMEPARAM@@41Q6m6MyHZL[/ame] It's an inflatable 12-foot catamaran with a rating of 0-25 knots. From what I can see, it meets your requirements pretty well. You may want to check it out. If it doesn't work, there is a bit of a selection, and they have a pretty good return policy.
