New to Spearfishing!

Hi Everyone!
I just found this website today while searching for tips and tricks for beginner spearfishers. I am open water certified with many dives under my belt. I dive near along the Sonoma Coast. I work at a dive shop and would like to gain familiarity with spearfishing.

Any suggestions on where I should look to learn more about spearfishing?

Hi Gabrielle,

I'm pretty new to this too, and have gathered all info I needed from the forums. They contain tons and tons of info, but the subject is super broad with all from equalizing problems, gear, local fish, fins/masks, etc, etc.

Is it anything in particular you want to know more about?

Hi Gabrielle, welcome to Deeperblue. I suggest browsing the Spearfishing area. There is a lot of information there, so do take advantage. Start with the Dummies Guide to Spearfishing series, and go from there. Link: https://forums.deeperblue.com/forums/beginner-spearfishing.61/ Spend some time wandering around the threads, especially in the Beginner area, and use the search function to narrow down subjects and terms. Build up some basic knowledge and ask questions specific to your situation.
