I just moved to Kona from San Diego and am really interested in freediving. I am looking for someone to go freediving with, I work for Sea Paradise and Dolphin Discovery so I have the venue to get in alot of practice, but its not the same as going out to go spearing. I am still a beginner but I would love to just go out snorkeling around with someone that is experienced so that I can pick up the tricks of the trade and learn the ways of the hunt and the kill. I have always learned best from watching people that are good at something and trying to mimic them and I think it would be a good way to start before I buy my first . So if anyone would like some company or knows any good venues for getting started I am all ears.

Aloha.
I actually live in Canada's arctic, of all places, but will be on the Big Island with my Omer long fins and what not come mid January, for 2 weeks. I doubt I have much more experience at free-diving than yourself, and certainly zero local knowledge, but would love to have someone to partner up with while I'm on the Island! I plan on diving a lot, and checking out any spots I hear of from South Kohala - South Kona. Chime in if diving with a 2 week tourist appeals to you. I'll look you up when I get there. Is it Kona-Kailua that you work?
Cheers.

BTW - Have you heard of which spots on the Kona side are best for freedivers?
