New VHF Radio

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
How is the radio now you have had it for a while?

I also had an earlier model Icom I used for kayak fishing... the battery terminals suffered from corrosion and it didn't float.

Do you keep it in a waterproof pouch?
 
Hi simon, I have used it this year and been pleased with it. All ok, no corrosion, battery life is sufficient. i dont use a case, just keep it on the yak, generally just clipped to the seat, so it does get wet.
not sure what the alternatives might be now, probably worth checking...
