Wow this is some great baracuda.

I would be interested in knowing the weight of this baracuda... Because here in Qatar, my friends have pulled baracudas that are similar to this size... I'll ask for their permission to post their photos :)

The site translates the link and gets the Title of the page. If you go to your link and look at the top of the browser you should see what I mean.

Nice cuda. I've been around them on Scuba and they seem to stay away and circle the bubbles. This past July was the first time I was freediving with them and they come right up to you and act totally different. Their teeth are intimidating.

Thanks IL Diver, that is pretty cool, i've never seen that before, well ive never noticed it anyway.

Can't wait till i see one under water, they must look amazing and proper scary too, do you think anyone has ever speared one this big?

I saw some photos of big cuda speared by random guys but nothing that ever looked this big!:inlove

What do you think 70kg:confused::confused:

Cheers,

Not sure many people mess with spearing them. They are not safe to eat in some areas. A guy I know in Florida will eat small ones. When I was living in Panama City Florida a guy caught one while fishing. Well, it caught him. It was going for the Mackerel he caught and missed the fish as he was gaffing it and got the guys arm. They said it was just over 6' long and he had to pull it into the boat thrashing around still biting into him. They had to beat the fish to death to get it off. It tore his forearm up really bad and if I recall correctly he spent a few days in the hospital. They showed a picture of the boat and it was covered with his blood and the fish's blood.

Also while living in Florida, there was a weekly scuba show on. This guy would dive with a particular cuda quite a bit. He would sit on the bottom and put a cigar minnow in his teeth. The cuda would swoop in and take the minnow. He said he had never been hurt doing it, just his mask knocked off occasionally. No thanks, they intimidate me too much to consider trying that one.
