Two more National records set.

Phil Clayton (UK) - 132m DNF - 2 mins 29 Seconds

Walter Steyn (Aus) - 165m DNF - 2 mins 43 Seconds

Well done Kathyrn! You Rock!

Sorry I couldn't be there, but I have a paper to write for Copenhagen.

I am sure there is more to follow...

New Zealand continues to take over the freediving scene...

Sam

Well done Kathryn!!!

Congratulations and a big HUG!

What about you Kerian?

I am not competing right now as I am only just recovered from a car accident which stuffed my training. I will be back next year though for sure.

Well done Kathryn.....an awesome swim!!!!!

All the best to you and all the other competitors for the rest of the weekend.

Wishing I could be there!!!

John

Congratulations!!!
NZ's first WR record holderess!
Good luck for your subsequent swims.

Awesome work Kathryn and congrats on the WR and the way you obviously managed the pressure.

Great swim from Aussie Wal as well-congrats.

Kathryn! Congratu-bloody-lations! A well deserved world record! Knew you could do it, well done.

And well done Wal too, every time that man steps into a pool it's a national record.

Greetings from Prague, though soon to be Poland, then Slovakia, then.. damn I haven't a clue where.

Cheers,
Ben

Congrats Kathryn!

She's probably giggling her ass off, pulling up 50m short of her PB only to break the record 1m at a time. Good businesswoman.

Thanks Eric (and everyone else) - not quite 50m short (I wish!) - will keep working on that 200m DNF though there might be a few more smaller goals to reach first (including getting there with a fin on!). :) Hoping today's dive will be more pleasurable. Nerves were shocking yesterday.

Should mention that we got absolutely no financial sponsorship for this either. :( NZ companies seem to not be very interested in us. Orca has provided my Apex 2 wetsuit which is fantastic, and Sealord gave me 2 cartons tuna which we managed to sell off for about $50.

Hi Kathryn

We've never met but I've been watching you and waiting for this one. Well done! Hope I'll be seeing you in Sharm to give you a congrats hug. Awesome dive, now go do some more!

Great job Kathryn, amazing, you deserve a glass (or two) of wine!

Kerian: good luck mate, hope the training gets you back in shape soon

cheers

Hope to see you at the next comp Adam.

Today wasn't so fab for me: 141m DNF and really nervy shakey legs again zapping the energy away.

Walter was the star today with his huge 206m dynamic (done in a 25m pool), setting a new Australian record and we think it might be first in this year's world rankings???

Phil Clayton did a fantastic DYN of 170m.

Maria did a new personal best dynamic of 70m (2nd best Norwegian woman!) and it's only her first competition.

Christ New Zealanders and Aussies taking over the freediving world, def gives some of us amatuers something to aspire to. Congratulations to all of you.

Great dive Katherin! Really nice you were able to maintain a good stroke right up to end of your long swim! Very inspirational, thank you!

I'm sure the chidlen in the background were not aware of your world record setting performance!

- How does it feel to set your first World Record?
- Are you getting hungry for more? which one(s)?

Love, Courage and Water,

Kars
