well its not new, but recently the SS Turkia has been discovered for diving, check it out here.. this thing is promising to be the new thistlegorm and rosalie moller, i doubt it will be visited frequently as its location is quite remote from the traditional dive sites...

Turkia Wreck - Gulf of Suez

Martin and I were on a liveaboard to do this wreck in November with Aquatours but the weather was too rough and we couldn't sail far enough, wasn't for lack of trying though, the skipper made a brave attempt - my stomach wasn't thanking him for it :yack

We were disappointed not to have dived it, but we still had a great week with lots of interesting dives.

where did you board from, sharm?, Hurghada?
i have a boat 2 hours away, but its a small boat so i cant make the trip if its bad weather...

We boarded from the New Marina in Hurghada on a brand new boat - Desmondo. Apparently the sail to where we needed to be was 14 hours, in good weather - the plan was to do it overnight but it never happened. We tried one morning when it was completely flat calm where we were moored and as far as the eye could see, but that didln't last long! After what seemed like an eternity the captain turned the boat around!

well what do you know Donna, guess which boat i was on when i got hit by the zodiac! what a coincidence :)

Hi Marwan:

I found the coordinates to the SS Turkia:friday....it happens to be 26 nautical miles from M Dome......probably can make it an hours time or less with my boat on a good day….What do you think.

Cheers,
Ihab
