Looking for people who spear in the new york area. Im a newbie who wants to get into spearfishing.

Im moving to manhattan...if therse anyone up for some spearing ud make my day.

Gona b living in new jersey as well.

I dive Montauk all summer long, spent a lot of time on the Race, Elbow, Porgy Hump, pretty much everywhere and know of some pretty Low key but solid spots by memory. But i live in North Jersey so the commute sucks, as well as boatless. but i just found out my dive buddy moved out to Cali so it wouldnt hurt to meet some new spearos in the region. Where and how do you guys normally dive?

hey guys,

I'm a newbie too, I live in Brooklyn but spend most of the time in Manhattan. Would love to meet some spearos out there. When does the season start?

Though I lived in NY I would drive 45 mins north of the city to the conn. side of the sound. The water was pretty clear there.

berrooo 1000 im kind of new too , but i think i know pretty much ,i just need live expierience ,so im looking for buddies to spear with so if you have any ideas im open just let me know thanks MAZI

Season coming to an end but if there is any hard core people wanting to dive let me know.

I think I'm done for the year unless we get a beautiful high 60's day in the next week or two. Too cold for me

I'm in the city. Give me a call and we will head dwn to the jerz shore and shoot some striper while they are making their migration.

Do you mean now.. cuz im up for it... you know some spots?
im in the lower east side and have a car.

My girl lives dwn there and we can stay at my friends pats house. He lives right off the beach. Do you have any dive gear? You will need a 5mm suit and sox and gloves. I have a gun you can use. this weekend I can't because I have to see my mom. but deff.next weekend I'm going and your welcome to come.

Have you dived this spot before? Were in NJ is it...I dive a few times round south Jersey but was not grate.

Thought Id post this here if anyone is interested.....

Well bit slow writing about it but.........

Went for a dive on long island south cost. The viz was NICE about 50-60 feet. Picked up a load of nice oysters and mussels every were.

Saw two tog that were a little over the size limit but left them alone as had so much shell fish.

Found it hard not to eat all the mussels raw as they were to be cooked the next day. Some of the oysters were bigger then my hole hand.

Water was 47 F (weeeell cold)
