Just read the terrible news.
My thoughts are with our kiwi cousins at this time.
I hope all our db New Zealanders and their families are safe.

From what’s on the news over here it seems like Christchurch has had the worst of it, The BBC are saying that there’s a death toll of over 65 and that figure is set to rise.
Thoughts go out to the folks of New Zealand at this dark hour.

Just heard about it as well. Condolences and to all who have lost loved ones and hope that our DB family is safe. Please let us know when you can.

The earthquake was very shallow and centred in an area just out of Christchurch proper. Everywhere else is fine, but Christchurch was hit bloody hard. The rescue workers aren't retrieving bodies and just concentrating on the living right now. Many predictions are putting it past the 1931 Napier earthquake's in death toll of 256. Let's hope not.

We've not had a good run recently.

still have family that work in christchurch we haven't herd from yet

Very sad to hear about the earthquake...I hope all in the forum and relatives are well...

Mate, I hope they're all OK, the waiting for news must be terrible.
Wish we could help in some way.
If we can do anything for you, just ask.

A housemate of mine is visiting her parents in New Zealand, really hope it's not anywhere near Christchurch as I can't remember where she said she was going...

my prayers to the whole NZ nation
hope you all get out of this soon

i have now had contact with all the family now and are making arangements for those needing a place to live

Still hoping for the best. I have one family friend confirmed dead; she was in the PGC building that experienced complete collapse. I didn't know her well, but it does hit home a bit harder.

I hope all your family get out okay, Shrek.

The last report I heard there were "HUNDREDS" missing. That's horrid, let's hope most of them, if not all by some miracle, turn up alright.

From one earthquake prone area to another, courage, brothers and sisters. California sent rescue dogs . . .
