Hello,

Just a quick introduction from Canada...

Just getting started and mostly training on land...
I think I could really excel at this and have a good time doing so.... while staying in good cardiovascular shape... should be fun.

Hey Apneaddict, Who do you train with? I currently live in Vermont but I may spend some time in NY, not too far from Toronto. Looking for a group near me...

Not sure if they are still around, but this used to be an active group:

I've dove, both freedive and scuba, up in Tobermorey in the past. It's a great place to dive and you should have lots of other freedivers in the area to join you. They have everything from wrecks, to caverns, to drop offs. There's almost always calm water somewhere no matter which way the wind is blowing from. The vis was good, the water warmed up quite nicely in the late summer months and I remember that the zebra mussels attached themselves to the bottom and left the shipwrecks alone- which is quite the opposite of what we have over here in Lake Michigan. At least that's the way it was 10 years ago.

Here's one shot I took when I was diving up there:

The water was warm all the way down to 65'! This pic was taken on a wreck in less than 20'.

Here's a pic someone took of me when I was diving up there:
