Hey everybody, trying to nail down some gear must haves before I spend more money on things I don't need. I have only pole speared reef fish before and loved it but wanted to reach out a little more to some better eaters. I just bought an entry level 75cm gun for my 15yr son and myself and want to know what additional tools I need like weight belt(how much weight), line length, muzzle bungie, float/flag... We will be headed back to Maui at the end of June and I want to get everything I need and use it all before I get there so I feel comfortable and confident with it all. We will only be reef hunting so nothing in the deep blue. Thanks for your time and advice.

Don't ever sell a pole spear unless its to get a better one,I have found that a pole teaches you far more about hunting fish, they hone your skills, sort of like a bow and arrow v rifle .
That's just my opinion though.as for the weights I find a weight vest more comfortable because belts hurt my back injury.get every thing you can in a cammo effect pattern. And just have a great time with your kids.
