Newbie to this forum but not to diving.
I've been PADI certified since 18 yo and get this, Key Largo, FL. Now have advanced and soon after starting scuba I became an avid spearfisher guy. Always with a gun but never, as yet, with a sling. I been fortunate to have work assignments in Key Largo, mm 105 @ 11 Mutiny Lane which was quite fitting with fish and lobsters aplenty then. Then Freeport GBI, Puerto Rico and St. John, USVI. When in PHX, AZ, I'd go down to the Sea of Cortez, Mexico. Currently landlocked in Atlanta but I cannot handle it any more.
Presently, I am planning to permanently relocate to one of these places primarily for blue water fishing and spearing as I hate inland lakes because, well, I am just reef spoiled! My current target locations are but not limited to: Puerto Rico, Belize and Costa Rico.
I checked out the spearfishing regulations so these appear to be ok. I am looking for some current assistance in this venture for specific opinions and advice regarding these locations and or other suitable places.
TIA,
Brooks
